STOP PRESS. Salar the Salmon exhibition has been extended to Nov 8th! I popped into see the Salar the Salmon exhibition at the Barnstaple museum this week. It’s a lovely, intimate exhibition with a lot of different artefacts from ancient netting tools to rare salmon netting licenses, old photographs and artwork by Jon Lincoln Gordon and Suzanne Hobbs. Our film salmon netting on the Taw & Torridge is playing on a constant loop, projected on to one of the walls. You can hear Stephen’s voice calling you from the landing! I suggest, if you’re not disturbing anyone else reading plaques, turning off the lights for five minutes so you can see the film better! Another highlight of the exhibition is the newly restored wooden salmon netting boat. It’s running until October 18th. On Thursday 18th September there’s a free open event – a chance to watch the film and chat to the stars Sheila & Stephen Taylor, the boat restorer, the artists and the Boat Stories team. See invite below. |
